Willard Stone Museum Legacy Fundraiser
Willard Stone Museum Inc. held a fundraiser at the Thompson Mansion on March 7, 2020, to raise funds to purchase the building that will eventually hold the museum. The fundraiser was a success, raising over $40,000 and allowing the museum to purchase the building at the corner of Ross and Broadway in downtown Locust Grove.
This new building will allow the museum to better preserve Willard Stone’s legacy and make his artwork accessible to patrons and a whole new generation of citizens,
The museum is presently located at the homesite of the late Willard and Sophie Stone. An historic bank building from 1912 in downtown Locust Grove is the site for the relocation.
The museum continues to need your help in making this move and renovation a reality, which will allow us to preserve and commemorate the work and memorabilia of this American contemporary artist.
